Polka Dot Pear - Little Things

We are getting ready to launch 'little things' for Polka Dot Pear!  We have realized that is truly is the 'little things' in life that really matter!  That special little gift that someone just happens to give you on the right day/right time!  We can be so overwhelmed with LIFE itself and something so little & thoughtful can make the world of difference.  Well now it is time to remind everyone (even ourselves) what life is really about - we may see this thru a child's eyes or thru circumstances and we are going to share!!
Get ready to be inspired and carry on these fun ideas : )

Little something special for school friends!

Thought we'd share a cute idea for a little 'something..something' special for the little ones!  I had both girls starting school this year (one in kindergarten & one in preschool a few days a week)...so the girls and i thought we'd send a little care package to all the little friends that are going to different schools this year (to show we missed them)!
Package included:  Itty bitty card, McDonalds 'After School' coupons & a book about starting a new school....boy were those little ones happy to get their little packages...see 'it truly is the little things in life'...

Sisters with a cause!

Well ... here we are ... 2 sisters with a definite cause (Tami & Tara)!  Our mother (better known now as Grandma Karen) is the reason Polka Dot Pear even started.  She was an amazing woman filled with a creativity beyond words!  She passed away from breast cancer in 1997 unable to ever meet her 4 beautiful granddaughters so to us these pictures are priceless...us 6 girls fighting for a special cause in memory of our very special mother/grandmother!

Share your story - what is your reason to fight for the cure?  Send in story w/ your pic of tee too - we'll post to our blog!  We would love to hear your story!

School starting soon!

Hard to believe Summer '08 is almost over! With a blink of an eye...here we are getting our little ones ready for school already! I learned last year that my 5 year-old (kaitlyn) loves getting notes in her lunch at school so I am making it a point now to have special personalized notes ready to put in each morning! After all, isn't it the children in our lives that make us realize...it is the 'little things' that really matter : ) It is nice to know you are putting a smile on their face without even being there!....so slip some special notes in his/her lunchbox this fall semester!
